Looking for vincent comet lyy282

Hello,
I am trying to trace my dad`s old Vincent Comet which was reg number LYY282 and was a 1950/52 model.My dad sold the bike in 1959 to a Hampstead motorcycle dealer for £50 as he was getting married.I have checked on the DVLA website with no luck.If you have any info please let me know.

Thanks Graham,
I was chatting with my mum and dad today,my mum told me that when they were courting my dad had a crash when she was on the back .My dad went and picked the Vincent up first before checking how my mum was!!.
