Interesting Scintilla as it has a advance/retard set up. Some were fixed.

advance/retard were fitted to most race bikes in europe as most road races were push start

Only on a two stroke. Some of them will fire up backwards;-) My Bonneville bike was OK to push when I had locked advance..

My comment was based on the fact that most Scintillas which were designed for Picador engines. I had one which was fixed timing. I had another that was advance/retard set up but it was one that was homemade and had been fitted to a motorcycle.
