Metric measurements are easier to write down John unless one uses decimals, 1/8", 1/4", 5/16", I can write down easily but the decimal equivalents I have to have my Zeus tables being a little on the dumb side!
I bought my son a vernier gauge that does metric, decimal inches and then on the next press fractions of an inch! wonderful, just the job for those under forty who have had a whole block of information missing in their education.
In any case I see the master meter in Paris is slowly changing length.....
I found I had one of those, Only about £20, It's the only way I could make my Clutch shoe spring tool, With a point this and a point that in the instructions. Cheers Bill.
