How is the rear brake cable routed? I see it going forward on the left side and reappearing on the right going to the brake.

Good question. One more photo but I'm afraid it doesn't unravel the mystery either.

You're not getting it mixed up with rear wheel speedo drive?

The photo in post #3 has a bare cable inner going forward from the foot lever, just above the speedo cable. I only have my iPad now and can’t enlarge or highlight the area.
