I have put three video's on YouTube. The resolution has been heavily reduced to get the file size down to under 100mb as required by youtube. I.e The originals are MiniDV and don't have the streaking you see on youtube.

If anyone shot anything of the lap I am interested in putting a DVD together (especially if I am in it :)# ). My rider number was 1. I spoke to a few people on the island who agreed to swap footage but have managed to lose my notes of contact details. Apologies.

Hers the links, they are all rough edits.

As I was scrutineering clothing I wasn't able to do much of the inspection process.

I don't have the names of all the participants in the sprint, please advise me so a commentary can be written.

Gerry,

You'll see I posted a thread about the manx asking if anyone was going to shoot video and could I get a copy - you'll see from my thread I actually went as far as talking to Duke Video who were going to see if they could get someone to do it properly - I haven't heard from them yet as to whether or not they managed.

If you get something together I'd love a copy?

Cheers

Stuart

Ok will let you know as soon as it happens.
I would guess Duke Video would have shot something as it was a rare event. If they did they may include it on a Manx GP dvd.

Video

I went in to Duke video and they didn't seem to be doing anything. They even said that there were no plans for producing a seperate DVD of the GP.
I have some footage taken by Roger Lord of the start and finish. The first few out of the gate suffered from lense-cap-itis but it is still impressive.
What we really need is someone who is better at editing than me to collate all of the photos and videos that are about and produce a disc.... Any volunteers out there?

I am quite happy to do it. I have the free use of a video editing suite in London which employs me as a freelance editor. Though most of this project could be done on a PC.
Dave Lancaster, who has footage from the trackside, is meeting with me next week to start assembly.
I am also quite happy to give out my footage (High Resolution copys of original).

I'm sure I saw somebody with a professional video / TV camera recording at the finish line as I crossed the finish. It was a large shoulder TV camera not the small hand held type. There was also a professional camera man in the pit lane with the same type of camera recording and was wearing a bib with TV on the back. Anybody know anthing about this or was I still in a dream?

Gerry, if you manage to compile a collection of video shots I would be willing to pay for a copy.

Cheers,
Simon Dinsdale.

I chatted with a Vin lady (I have forgotten her name)at the Empress on this subject. She mentioned that there was an eight minute video taken from the hut near Creg-ny-ba.
She said it was very impressive and that someone had set it up to run endlessly on one of the TV screens at the Empress. Lots of people saw it, so someone will know where it is. Unfortunately it wasn't running when I was there.
I hope someone has footage from the 90 degree turn in town at Ramsey. I very nearly lost it there after overtaking someone at a point far too close to the turn. I had way too much speed going into the corner but went around OK, with knee slider scraping and wheels about a foot from the outside radius at the barriers. It should have looked great, but reality is that I was thinking this was a rather poor place to wipe out, with the large crowd of spectators right there on the corner. The fear of humiliation is greater than the fear of pain.

I did a search and found a company called Manx TV. I wonder if they were the TV people. They have produced a DVD of the 2 day trial maybe they have something on the parade.
