I Have Never done This Before

Basically this thread is a sales pitch. I am uncomfortable doing so because I do not like to promote myself or anything I build or have built. I am selling my Egli known as "Big Sid". It has been under wraps in dry storage for 9 years. Due to my
disabled condition I could no longer start the machine let alone just hold it up or roll it around. So I had to admit to myself finally that there is no point in keeping it when someone else could be using it for what it was built for.
The genuine Egli frame kit I bought from Gene Aucott back in '79. The engine I used was a brand new Harpers.... all new parts within. Over the years it has gone through many modifications when I would come up with a new idea to make a Vin
work better. It is a very special machine indeed built with a list of my own special parts too long to list. A custom primary with a Lucas alternator being just one. No current pictures of the machine are available as I have to get it out of a fully
packed garage to do so.... and there would be no point in a present photo as the machine needs cleaning up. Besides, a picture tells you nothing other than a bike is pretty on the outside.... the real beauty of mine is inside those cases.
I am getting it out this week.... the tyres need replacing and I have a new battery on order to fire those dual-plug heads. I am having a Delorto specialist rebuild the pumpers - twin front heads on lightning manifolds.
I can say in honesty that there is nothing as fine and a new owner will have bought him or herself a jewel.
So at this moment my words rest upon my reputation as I have never advertised..... my customers did that for me as once a Vincent owner rode a machine I built for someone it wasn't very long before his machine was in my shop.
This naturally will be an expensive machine.... I have yet not decided on a fair price. The pictures I provide are the only ones I have before I put it away..... but, with an easy clean, the machine now would look the same.

I'm not looking for another machine. But, having a rough idea of what a fair price is for such a machine, and based only on your reputation since I have never met you, if I were in the market for such a machine I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to drive to Colorado this weekend with a pocket of cash since I would expect to find it as described.

Magnetoman, Thank you for your kind words. You will find the Vincent you want and you are better off for it. The Egli is built to go out for a ride, scare the hell out of yourself.... and come home. A stocker is SO MUCH more practical!

Awsome machine Rip.......It must be very hard to let something that has been such a "Work in progress" and personal poject go to someone else. It is like a piece of art that represents a life of experience......which in itself is "Priceless" The lucky person will not be dissappionted.........Cheers and beers......Greg.

The ironic thing is that the machine has only about 3,000 miles on it. After moving my shop to the Catskills up a 3 1/2 mile rugged one lane dirt road..... I soon discovered the Egli was not designed as a dirt bike. So, I used my Rap and Shadow mostly which
were fitted with very good air filters.

My stock 100+ h.p. Ducatis also are built to take out for a ride, scare the hell out of me, and be practical. While my Gold Star also is reasonably stock, I don't think I could call it "practical" in the same sense...

I have ordered a pair of Bridgestone Battleaxes for the Egli.... the front tyre has a slight rib which I have always liked. The stock Vin was always better off with a ribbed front tyre. From testing I discovered a rib front tyre was one more way
to subdue the dreaded speed-wobble. Keep this in mind when you need to replace a front tyre on your sweetie!
