Hello all,

I have some stone chips on the girder forks, but the first couple of paints I have tried (Rustins and Humbrol Gloss Black) both look noticeably grey under bright light in comparison to the original paint. As far as I am aware, the current paint is original.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to a brand I might try that is available in small quantities?

Cheers,

Ed.

I use Testors model paint, found in hobby store

Try the black that Porsche use..it actually has a bit of red in it, on my bike it was a close match for the original stoved enamel

You could go to a spray painter as they have an app on their phones that can colour match.

If you're just touching up small faults, I suggest sticking with the Humbrol and putting some clear varnish over it the next day. May just bring the gloss up/ fill out the depth. ?
Cheap anyway.
( I am in Yorkshire ! )
