On page 50 of the October 2013 issue of Cycle World is an article by Peter Egan on the Herb Harris owned early Rapide. Here are a few close-ups I took six years ago:

For those who have not read the article, this photo shows the engine number which the article says was changed by the factory when it was made into a marine engine by a stamp over with an "M" in the prefix and the addition of the numbers "468" after the "1" which was its original number.

Interesting, those sturdily crafted rocker caps are definitely from the Land of the Peronistas! I have seen other machines from Argentina that have similar mis-matched covers and other bodges. They sort of have the Cuban car look to them, and for similar reasons.An engine with these details is listed in the Denis Minett notebook. Of this array I tell no further tale.
