For iPhone users specifically, what is the advantage? While out on the salt flats at Bonneville recently, I was easily able to view and post to the landracing.com forum via the built-in Safari browser. I might try the free version just to see if the app might be any better than Safari for viewing, but I doubt I would pay for the full version since I can already post replies.

It makes viewing and replying to threads much easier when using a small screen = such as on an iphone.

Hi Graham,
Have a Blackberry from the company i work for with a flat rate within Germany, however, i travel around the globe quite a bit.
Have you an idea of what costs are involved here? (downloads/uploads of information?)

Thanks

No - absolutely no idea at all, but I can't for one minute imagine it'll be expensive, as instead of all the images etc that you get when you view the forum on a web browser, it simply displays the threads and posts as text.

If you do try it on a Blackberry, I'd be interested what you make of it, as I've only ever seen it on an iPhone

O,K graham, I´ll risk the wrath of my IT guys(& gals) and give it a go (shouldn´t cause much more of a stir than the porn filled E-mails Terry Kirk keeps sending me :D)
I´ll let you know how i get on with it.

Ah, that by itself might make it worth it, it will save on my data usage to automatically filter out the images, especially for the landracing forum, where they like to embed lots of pictures. Thanks, I too will give it a try.

Went ahead and paid for the full version, only $3, and it's not bad. The iPhone/Safari web browser method is very usable, but it is nice to not have to scroll around, or zoom in/out to view the posts.

I don't see a way to mark a thread as read without reading it, though. Is that feature there somewhere?

Yes - there's a 'button' top right as though you're going to forward the message on.

Click there, and you get the option to mark all the posts as read.

Hope this helps.

I'll try that.

Is there a way to jump to the first unread post in a given thread? I see the screen that shows all of the unread threads, which is good, but once you select a thread, it leaves me at the top of the thread. Would be nice if it auto-scrolled down to the first post I have not read yet.
