The book arrived I read most ,Vincent parts of intrest, 1953 Harry won the Tostal race in Dublin on Gunga Din after the race took Gunga Din to Cork where that broke the Irish speed record 140 MPH over three runs, this record stood for 26 years, then at Filton airfield Bristol Harry rode the Reg Dearden Super charged Lightning was doing 6500 rpm in first changed up to second and sheared the main shaft the next day after over night repairs did the same thing, Harry father was the Vincent dealer for Dublin

Does it say where in Cork he went 140 mph? I was in Cork in August and didn't see many straight roads. Was it on petrol or alcohol?

Carrigrahone straight is on the west side of cork city ,we used to have sprints there every year. It's about 3 miles long ,in the 20's there was car races there , now built up around most of it.
