Interestingly the head clip on my Bramptons consists of 2 FT215s with a plain bolt through the centre - not sure if this was ever a standard set-up ??

Actually, a quick check reveals that I don't have FT215s, as FT217 pad bolt is 3/8" cycle, the hole in the 2 sleeves I have is 5/16". Anyone else with this set-up ??

Mines 3/8", but its not a bolt with a hex as it is just machined with a shallow dome on the end instead. I did not take it apart but it looks like there is a sleeve in the nut end.

That's the standard FT217 + Ft215 arrangement.
