More on GPS It seems that at every rally lately there are huddles of people standing around ignoring the bikes and comparing their gps sets.. Well here goes. Quest - If it locks up you can force it to do a reboot by holding two buttons, I forget which two but see the web site. Personally I think that next time it plays up you should boot it over the nearest hedge. Tom Tom- I bought a Tom Tom rider1 when they first came out just over ayear ago. It cost an arm and a leg but was the only dedicated motorcycle sat nav around. Within a month it failed and went back to Tom-Tom for repair. After they had had it for 6 weeks I got 'Very Excited' with customer service and they sent me a new one. The rider 1 works well but the mounting bracket is rubbish, the power pins erode the contacts on the back of the unit after only 1000 miles and it fails to charge properly (it does this on Jap bikes as well). The last time it did this was on the way to the French rally when it worked fine all the way to Dover ( I knew the way anyway) but packed up as we left the ferry in Callais- Bugger. Tom-Tom now say that the rider 2 is improved and I should throw my 1 year old system away and buy the replacement from them... Ha! Garmin Zumo - I have just bought one of these and 'though I try not to agree with the member from the Welsh section of the Honda owners club:D he is quite right they are brilliant. Pete
