Does anybody know of the (normal) existence of a gasket ring fitted under the gearbox filler G104? When i removed mine one was fitted under there- and i doubt it had ever been removed before.I cannot find any reference to a gasket here, and i wonder if anyone else has found similar- its a simple gasket paper washer, quite thick, say 1-1.5mm (which would affect dipstick reading a tiny bit I suppose) Did Vincents fit them from new but never let on, or is mine an addition? Cheers, bob.

Surely an addition, never mentioned in any literature I've read. I would just use a bit of non-setting goo, like you do on the oil filter chamber cap.

There was no gasket on mine when I removed it not so long ago. But I do think it's a good candidate for a little o-ring in a machined groove...
