Yup, I am at the moment guessing 3/16" will do the job. A closer look will tell the story but I think it is less than 1/4". I will fit a chain tomorrow to test. That is a PITA!. So far just a laser check. So what happened at the factory?
Very little room so two washers worked for me

I too experienced this problem on my C Rapide and used a spacer to overcome it. For some reason which I now forget I had the chain guard off the bike and took the opportunity to unsweat the rear bracket and reposition where needed and did away with the spacer. I have also had to thin the seat damper through bolt heads. There is very little clearance there.
