Is there a torque number to use when setting the ET55/2 into the case? snug? tight? or an actual number.

There is no book torque figure, Just lock 2 of the 879 thin nuts together, smear some thread sealant on the upper part of the thread, then wind into the case and pull up tight........My guess is around 25 Ft Lb's would be fine, as the hold down nuts ET 56 are pulled to 30 to 32 Ft Lb's. Good luck ......... Greg.

More chance of getting stressed on a Comet rather than on a twin, you do have to wring their necks a bit.
