Be it known throughout the land, therefore (toorootooroooooo..), that the Vincent twin dynamo runs at 1.25 x engine speed. The twin is geared to 22 mph / 1000 rpm, so the input speed to the dynamo (or Alton, whatever) is really quite low compared with most bikes.

Apropos nothing at all, really, 22/1000 is really high gearing: my Manx is geared at 17.5 mph / 1000 for seriously quick circuits like "long" Chimay or Dundrod. At 22/1000 it would be clocking 180 mph! I should take it to Bonneville...

The number of teeth on a twin dynamo sprocket is 28.
I just went out to the workshop and counted them, just for you, Tom!
