Dropping the pilot

Ah! nothing to do with carburetors more a nautical turn when the pilot who has steered us safely out of difficult waters leaves the ship on the open seas in the hands of the captain.
I refer of course to the practical end to Ian Savages 10 year stint as Managing Director of the Spares Company. He has taken a company from difficult times through two moves to its own premises and a healthy turnover with items stocked on the shelf like original silencers, fork legs tanks, crankcases and frame components that ten years ago we could only dream about, he has welded a good team around the company and provided a place where people can sell and buy Vincents without fear. Fortunately he has not gone entirely he remains available as a volunteer Director with an eye to development projects. Thank you Ian for all your help and hard work. And good luck to Bob Patchett who knows he has a hard act to follow but I am sure has the abilities to steer the good ship towards the new horizon
