As far as I know the bike has survived and owned by a VOC member in UK. I will try and contact them and point them to this message.

Thank you Simon, its my father on the bike. It was his stories about that bike which inspired me to buy a Comet, I found the photo with the clear registration number today whilst going through old photos. I do hope the current owner responds.
I now have DCP911 my brother Alan bought in the '70's from Chris Target (he had won a Club concours with it) it was in the Portsmouth/Southampton area. It was in Alan's garage unused for some 30 years. I now have the task of restoring it.
My father Peter Robertshaw is in the picture, I remember seeing the same or similar leg shields in my grandad's cellar in the early 70's.The bike was bought from a dealer in Sowerby Bridge [near Halifax] by my dad's mate Ronnie Tomlinson who generously allowed my father to use it whilst he was at sea with the merchant navy.
