Here is a picture of Dave and his Nitro burning Vincent in the tech line at Speed Week. Sure hope his newer, larger (now in the 2000cc class) motor runs well and he puts up some big numbers.

Just talked to Steve Hamel on the phone, he says there was a report elsewhere from Arlene Matson that Dave's Vincent has a broken fuel valve, and they are not sure if they can fix it. Here's hoping they can.

`Twas on Jtan Steve, remember ?

Speaking of bad news, our fuel valve spectacularly broke during our start up in the pits. We spent yesterday looking for parts to repair/replace this modified fuel valve Dave has had since the '60s. Of all things that can go wrong.... We'll keep trying today, but we may have to leave.

Peace,

Arlene Matson
