Dave Matson at Speed Week

Speed Week is currently going on at the Bonneville salt flats. I see in yesterday's run logs that Dave Matson is there with his nitro powered Vincent, now sporting a larger engine that puts him in the 2000cc class. Unfortunately, he turned out during his run, and did not go through the clocks.

They will be running through Sunday, so here's hoping that Dave gets it sorted out and makes some more runs.

I forgot. A long-standing record fell this week. The Triumph powered 500cc Fuel streamliner record set back in the '50s at 212.288 was broken. The new speed is 230.165.

The streamliner that set the new record is designed for engines of various capacities, and they plan to work their way up to a shot at the absolute mc record. See their website and blog for more information.
