E: Engine Cylinder barrel/muff o-ring source?

My Series B single has a narrow groove machined in the base of the muff right where it meets the liner. My understanding is that was an aftermarket modification to allow a very thin o-ring to be installed as a seal. Is anyone familiar with this modification and where can I source a suitably sized o-ring? I seem to recall someone mentioning that this was a Honda part but I could be mis-remembering...

Thanks!

Rather than struggling to find the correct 'o' ring, go on line and find a supplier of 'o ring string'. It might have a different name over there. You can buy it by the length and superglue the ends together to make what ever length you need.

Clever Trevor put such a groove on a barrel he made for my Comet. I have never known anyone else to do so.

Most all of the Vancouver engines have this done to them. Just go to the oring store and tell them what ID you need, in 1/16 dia (that's what we use) and buy a few. I think we get them in a tan colour which is hi temp.
