Crankcase studs

I've been looking at the threaded holes for ET109/8 &. ET109/9 - M & F on drawing M041.

The threads in my cases start some way into the hole - 5/8" and 3/8" respectively; not as shown on the drawing, it looks as if the threads have been stripped and re tapped deeper - can someone confirm whether the holes should be as shown on the drawing please?

Normally the blind stud holes have the top three turns of thread relieved, this enables the stud to be tight home, and giving a little support to the stud.
