When I assemble a motor or gearbox I use a product called Xcel plus. https://xcelplus.com.au/products.htm
It seems to do the job it is supposed to. Over thirty years ago it was called something different and then there was a big corporate bunfight over the formula. Basically SUPER slippery dipper product that puts a microfilm on surfaces. I know a lot of professional racers use it and are not allowed to say so due to advertising, sponsorship etc. Check it out for yourself.

To finish off this repair project, Somer Hooker supplied a set of clutch linings, and I found a local brake shop here in LA to have them fitted. The linings were already drilled and countersunk for rivets, but they bonded and riveted the linings. I went for a test ride yesterday, and both the gearbox and clutch are working sweetly. Man, I love the standard twin clutch, so smooth and such a light pull on the lever required. Hope my oil control measures work well and keep the clutch dry.
