The Suffolk Section invites members to pay us a visit at the Show at Trinity Park, Ipswich on Sunday, 3rd.October. It's a huge annual event that draws thousands with lots to see and do. Our member John Hood has arranged a display of Vincents of various kinds so we'ed love to see you!:)

Surely you would all sooner come to the N.Kent Pie & Pint meet on Sunday 3rd! We will give a drink to everyone on a Vincent and supply rolls in a sort of free for all, but there are usually enough. Nice pub on top of the downs. Serves food so come for a dinner.

Cheers, Dave

There's not enough time now for us 'up north' to get a visa for 'Sowf of de Rivah'.:p.Besides, it took a lot of organising to get 14 metres of marquee to hide under:p.Available on site are Pies, pints,Bike jumble.hog roast and a host of other foods, show bikes, club stands(V O C Suffolk section most important) clothing stalls and lots of other entertainments to 'stimulate the senses';-).This is reported to be the biggest one day BIKE show in the country all in the aid of charity,it takes up a very large chunk of the Suffolk showground just East of Ipswich off the A14 and is well worth a visit.Doors open to the public at 10:00. If the N.Kent meet and Copdock did not clash, I would come 'up north' and join you. Not done a Copdock yet and heard it was good. Perhaps next year? How about a VOC sidecar stand? Weather forcast for both not looking good, but hope you have a good day.
Cheers, Dave

We can't offer free refreshments at Ipswich but at least we won't have to face the M25 and Dartford Crossing.

P1010074.jpgP1010073.jpgDespite Dave Johnson's entreaties that people would rather go to the Pie & Pint meeting we had a good day at the Copdock Show last Sunday. John Hood and helpers erected two tents on Saturday. John had the foresight to lash them down in view of the weather forecast threatening strong wind and rain. This proved to be a wise move because on Sunday morning both of the tents had taken a battering. After abandoning the smaller one, the main tent was made secure and the bikes arranged within. Centre piece was Paul Saddler's custom special but the display included a Norvin, three Comets,Shadow and Rapide outfits,Shadow and Rapide solos and an Industrial Engine. The poor weather had little effect on attendance with thousands of visitors milling about and as this was essentially a fund raising event the nominated charities will have benefitted considerably. The organisers are anxious to know whether there would be enough support to make the show a two day event. What do you think?

Given the way the show has expanded over the years that the Suffolk Section has displayed at the show, a 2 day event would certainly work. Possibly the jumble and 'show bike ' sections might need expanding a bit more, but as the size of the trade stall area has more than doubled since last year then a 2 day event is definitely worth it. Maybe the motorised engines might see the light of day again.John
