Beginning an oil leak attack on the Comet and have a more minor question. Is there any sort of consensus that the primary chain should be endless—or instead connected by clip (the easier route)? My current chain has the clip link.
Richardson and Stevens give considerable detail on the primary chain for the twin (should be endless) but the poor Comet is neglected.
If anyone knowledgable has a view please let me know... My chain riveter isn’t the highest quality so my bias is toward the clip. I’ve had no issues, but this forum’s older posts include tales of doom and woe from primary chain failure. Thought I’d ask before misstepping.
