This is my first attempt to write in the new Forum, must be careful not to besmirch my toga! Ebay item261394660732 is very suspect. It bears the engine no. of the first post-war Meteor with a very dodgy font and layout. Also evidence of agricultural carving.Upon questioning, the vendor says the crankcase mating number is "1". this also appears to be in the wrong place for an early motor 'nuff said. Published here so prospective purchasors may heed a salutary warning.

Thank you. It looks like someone didn't want an HRD and carved it off so it didn't disagree with the badge on the replacement timing chest.
