Hello all. A quick question for you if I may?
I have recently had to cut an inch off my new down pipe to quieten the thing down because it was protruding into the baffle/absorption area of the silencer by that much and was scaring the neighbours, a kilometre away. I have had to do this to the previously fitted downpipe to enable a spiral baffle type silencer to be fitted, as the pipe was hard up to the spiral, restricting it somewhat. These items are all voc spares items and it does say ’cut to suit’ so I’m not complaining, merely interested as I have heard members say that pipe length plays a role in overall performance.
I am running a 600 kit with a 36 Dellorto. MK ll cams.
Dave.

Whose a lucky Sod !,
Our Howard, On the Forum, Did a bit about cutting slots under the silencer, At the tail pipe,
Can't remember, But a few of about 1/4" wide and a few inches long,
The more the better, I would say, But you don't want to see them ?,
I could see how it would work, but we had no feed back ?.
Could cost you a Silencer if it doesn't work ????.

I think the silencer should end at about the rear of the wheel rim,
But a few inches could cost a few BHP ?,
We need someone to do some Dyno tests, I have never used a Dyno,
I did a 10 years of Sprinting and worked out mine by the 1/4 mile,
But that worked out at the end being at the rear wheel spindle and was very LOUD !!.
