Comet clutch

I have a 1953 Comet engine and gearbox that I am going to build into a one off special, there is a fair amount of work required on the engine, and I need to keep costs to a minimum. I need to replace the entire Burman clutch and have been unable to find the original parts necessary, I therefore would like to use a modern replacement such as Honda. I believe this has been done before and need to find out which clutch has been used?.
I have managed to find a new Burman sprocket which I plan to rivet onto a suitable modern basket, with modifications to the inner to suit the Burman input shaft.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Comet clutches

You are far better off giving some money to Colin Jenner at Conway's and get his complete kit. All he needs is the chainwheel from the back of the Burman clutch.

Neil

I think he uses a Honda CJ360 as the basis for the kit:D
