When fitting the Conways clutch, I've managed to use the original clutch pushrod by shortening it about 10mm. It was too hard to saw, so I ground it down with an angle grinder. Will the new end need to be re-hardened, and if so, will heating and quenching in water be sufficient? I don't know how good the steel was on the original rod.

Fitting was pretty straight forward, I had a spare mainshaft so I sat at the kitchen table and filed the splines to fit. A quick test run around the block suggests that the improvement is astonishing. Transforms the bike.
Thanks.
