Hello everyone,
My Comet Serie C loses too much oil by the chain oiler. Yet the PR40 valve is tight.
How to close this valve and stop the oil on the chain ?
Have a nice week.
Michel.

on the upper end of the oil tube is something which i would call an olive.i cut down the tube and weldet a Piece of brass in the olive.you can do this with tin solder.the other possibiliti is to take a closed nut with Teflon tape and screw it on the Exit of the oiler.regards Erik

Replace the needle valve and you will have no further issues. Be sure to remove any 'rubbish' from the valve seat

I don't know whether the Comet is the same as the twins but on those most of us have blanked off the oil feed at the rear of the oil tank by fitting the lower nut from the bottom of Amal carburettors.

I soldered a small coin on the end of an olive nut thats one good use of pre euro money I wonder where all those early French Frank alloy coins with a hole in them went?

This needle valve is the same as the carburetor, isn' it ?
I'll follow your advice. Thanks.
