Somewhere, I can't remember from where, I've picked up the notion that brass nipples are preferable for use with steel levers and steel nipples are best for use with alloy levers.
Can anyone help to confirm this please?
If you look on the venhill site you can get nipples with a nylon sheath to fit alloy levers.If you buy a kit for the clutch lever you can then order the correct nipple. The nylon cover is not in my opinion suitable for a front brake application. And since time immemorial only brass nipples have been supplied for all the cables
