A member has a B Rap, motor number 2XX. The bike came with painted FT220’s. Is that a known variation? Those are the dumbbell shaped covers at the lower links.

The friction disc covers? Never seen them painted. Check Jacqueline's book for pictures of the early models (mine is in the library 3 floors up and I am lazy).

I've seen N.O.S. originals and they were chrome plated. Pages 62 and 63 of Roy Harper's "Vincent Vee Twins" seem to accord with this. Mind you, many parts varied in finish, some parts had different sized hexes- as has been said before "there is no such thing--------------."

These have the round ends welded to the flat bar in the middle and are not a single stamping. A previous owner could well have painted them.

Thanks to all for the suggestions!
