Can anyone tell me where the fixings should be on these open pipes, other than the exhaust nuts that is, they are standard diameter, not the bigger bore pipes, and stacked vertically as opposed horizontal, did each individual pipe have a bracket welded to it to attach to the footrest plate and were there any other points of attachment used.

I have a set of those that are 1 5/8.. purchased in the UK 40+ yrs ago. I assume over the years there were several different different makers though. I can send you photos, but it will be a few days before I can get my hands on them. Each pipe has just one bracket on the back that overlap (if I remember correctly) and are attached to the footrest plate with a single bolt.

Peter, this is how I did it, stainless pipe turned, polished and welded with standoffs internally threaded welded on, they are then cut through with a cutoff wheel. The angle bracket is located by the top Allen bolt and then mounted to the stock rear set plates.

First and third photo show setup for over under pipes. Second photo shows bracket for side by side.
Both setups use one bolt through footrest plate.
