While consuming my usual breakfast of tea and toast this morning, on page 33 of "The Guardian newspaper", what did I see but a photo of Hsiao Li Lindsay on a prewar H.R.D!! She has just died, aged 93. She and her English husband helped the communists against the Japanese, eventually coming to live in England after the war. I presume the bike belonged to her husband who became Lord Lindsay of Birker. What a strange place, Beijing, for a rather rare English motorcycle to end up in! I wonder whether it survived the war?:
