Armours front pipe for a comet.

I've got an Armours pipe on my twin. Very poor fit!! I know this is about Comet pipes, but the worst fit is the clamp where the two pipes join.

I don't know if it's an indication of the quality of steel used, but it also goes discoloured more than I expected for a stainless steel - to be fair the bike rarely does more than 50 miles at a time, and that's when I'm "de-stessing", so it probably gets a bit warmer than normal.

One way round the problem of getting ex pipes to fit, especially on Twins, is to fit exhaust stubs and clamps as in Know Thy Beast.
That gets away from the difficulty of making the end flange at exactly the correct angle for your particular bike.
And helps reduce the chance of damaging the thread in the cylinder head.

Anyone experienced problems with these stubs?
