Seeing as how Big Ed closed the thread which went sideways to aircraft engines just as I was about to post this, I thought I would start a new thread.
this from a few years ago. Supposedly the only Mosquito still running its original air frame. It passed around several owners in Western Canada before a man with somewhat deep pockets entrusted it to Victoria air services at the Victoria airport. A previous visitor to us apparently had made a comment about the use of SAE fittings on oil lines. The owner of the rebuild shop then asked him things like.
"What fittings did you put on your RR Merlins?"
"Where did you get them with the correct airworthy certifications?"
