There are lots of Vincent lads at this race. Mr. Tompkins and Mr. Dell made sure to invite all the guys who are involved in AHRMA and racing Vincents. Tom Kerr, Randy Hoffman, Scott Dell and David Tompkins were all on the track. Carleton Palmer was also attending (without a bike) but retold the story of the race. David Tompkins was well ahead of the pack with Alex McLane on the Norton. Tom Kerr decided early do do some racing on the grass and stayed on the grass for quite a while. When he returned to the track he took off and left Scott and Randy wondering. David came in second, Tom was third, Scott was fourth and Randy was fifth.
Randy did have a problem in practise yesterday when his cam and pinion spun. The spindle was fine, but Bill Weisman saved the day by providing Randy with a Mk1 cam. The bike went back together and was able to race today.
Three of the four bikes can be seen in the photo above. No. 14, Randy's bike went back together fairly quickly.
