Private advertisements from Club Members (including Message Pad) are free. Complete machines for sale are eligible to be accompanied by a single photograph for a cost of £10 plus 20 per cent VAT for Members and £20 plus 20 per cent VAT for non-Members. Colour will be used where possible, but is unable to be guaranteed due to print production restrictions.

have to invoice them, either annually, bi-annually, quarterly or ad hoc.
Another key part of what I do is the For Sale and Wanted advertisements that many of our Members place
every month. Upon receiving an e-mail, I insert the text into a Google Document with the other advertisements
for that month, then the next task is to edit the text so it all follows the same format as previous editions of
MPH, and this involves removing spelling/grammar errors too. In a standard month, I can expect to receive
anywhere from five up to fifteen For Sale/Wanted advertisements. After the 14th of the month, I send this
finished document to our Editor, who is coincidentally downstairs at all times so the Editor-Advertisement work
is very cohesive as we don’t have to spend hours writing e-mails to each other!
The start of December is normally the busiest time for advertisement duties. A lot of the clients require
invoicing for the year ahead, so there’s a lot of e-mailing, writing invoices and updating spreadsheets.
Keeping organised and on top of things is vital. I have two spreadsheets - one of the various advertisers
appearing in MPH every month, and another of the previous invoices I have issued. To anyone who may
become my successor in many years to come, being organised is very important.
