Something in "another place" jogged my memory and I thought I would share it on this forum:

Just down the road from Halton Bucks towards Tring is a road junction

non-descript leading to the Chilten hills it was there on the 25th Feb 1925 that Mc Lennan made the first Competion entry for an HRD (Page 29 "HRD Motorcycles") I lived 6 miles from there and 2 miles away lived Ron Kemp and at a pub half a mile away in a shed the first Velocette foot change was developed one night before a hill climb. many times I ridden a Vincent up that hill well worth a Rally I would have thought -the name of the hill?
Well car fans may know it Aston Hill something to do with a Martin....

In a month time another Chiltern hill is being used in anger the KOP hill climb at Princes Risbough I shall be riding a pre war bike because I get 2 days rides no its not an HRD if I had one it would be.
