530 Drive Chain Problem

I recently fitted a 520 chain, and new sprockets...the whole assembly is so tight it is damn near impossible to turn the back wheel by hand..

Has anyone fitted a 530 "O" or "X" ring drive chain to a Comet?

I wonder as my standard 530 chain measures 20.6mm across the pins, while the "O" and "X" ring types measure up to 24.6mm across the pins and I do not know if they would fit.
