Difficult to compare but having owned 500 Rudges of the lighter pre 37 type and now owning my second late Ulster ( 38) , it is maybe a bit heavier, but have a much better frame and forks. For real world old biking a really nice planted and fast machine, not slow, take it for a spin if you like, then tell me if its slow. I have to say it would leave my Comet in the exhaust fumes, trouble is its rigid so the Comet scores on that. I love em both.
Sorry John each to his own. I Spent good money and time on my 38 Bronze head raced at Cadwell and Mallory but it was soon was for sale in the funny papers and I was back to my Comet
