Received #8 ring terminals from Newark, crimped several today and they suit this project.
Small progress.
Servicing the snow blower for future snow.
I was using a butane lighter to shrink heat shrink tubing, but it always left a smoky finish. Now I use my hot air gun (PIA to get it out) and much nicer finish, no carbon.

Received a nice gift from Chris of the correct cabling to the Miller D/2 dip switch. Kinda a miniature work space to get the new cable soldered in , but it worked out fine. Very pleased.
Thank you Chris

I now need the soft rubber pad that goes underneath this Miller dip.

Was able to procure a vintage Lucas horn button from eBay sale of bucket of old Brit elec parts.
Cleaned it up, put on a new wire , ready to go.

Installed a 60" wire, hope it is enough to make to the screw disconnect.

I am not finding a mention of the famous "three wire braid" found on twin Vincents.
Hot batt to horn, hot horn to rear brake switch, horn to disconnect.

These wires and the close brake lever/rod have always seemed risky.

My Rapide has that braid on those wires........I'm not sure if it was original or not.......Could be a USA thing as my bike did come from New York.........The Bronx.

On the period piece BBC murder mysteries we see in the US, the phone receivers have a braided cord. Maybe cheap to buy or a custom job back then for Vin owners?

Thanks PapyG, I see a tighter braid going to top of horn, maybe to form a stiffer bundle.
I see other installs using the phenolic plate of the Lucas horn to hold the wires away.
I have a better idea of how to install my horn/wiring.
