The valve lifter on my Comet is very stiff, and does not appear to lift the valve, (or if lifted only a very small amount) even though the handlebar lever does move . What is the likely problem and is the lifter mechanism easy to dismantle/repair. It is making starting very difficult
I have never had any problem with the lifter on my Egli Comet Special, which has a much shorter handlebar lever with less leverage

Its most likely that the seal rubbers have perished or swollen a tad - simple but fiddley fix

Colin my handsome, better bring it down to Cornwall so we can fix it together, it is easier on the bike lift. Might even get you into coil ignition starting much easier and better again with an electric starter I have on the "D" Comet !
