Can someone tell me where I can find documentary proof that 18" rims were available as an option on a Vincent from the factory before production ended
This is not just an idle inquiry

According to it's build sheet, my Rapide (8/11/49) was originally shipped with an Avon Studded 4.00 x 18 rear tire and a Dural 5" mudguard.

This is a page from the 1953 Vincent brochure which is the tyres section says 18" by 4.00 rear and 19" by 3.50 front were alternative sizes.
Also in the factory records on the despatch check sheet it lists the following options which the guys assembling then ticked off which was fitted:
Front: 300x20, 350 x 19, 3..x 21
Rear: 350 x 19, 350 x 20, 400x 18
