Which Insurer / Agreed Value?

I insured with Carole Nash last year. I gave them my estimated value which was the same as the purchase price 48k. They asked me to send pictures of the machine. They wrote back agreeing the value. I'm not sure what I do this year as to value, and on CPI plus 10%?
I would say use the same value as last year because apart from landmark bikes the prices are pretty stable and not rising As usual as I found out in my exercise and investigation of resale values from 1956 to 2016 for my book, sellers expectations often lag the market a little on the way up but always do during a lull or drop.

I have 4 bikes 1937 to 1989 including my Vincent with Hagerty all with agreed values which I set and they agreed after seeing emailed photos. They also asked for photos of my garage which is alarmed and has police federation approved doors.
Their policy includes a recovery service so I have junked my AA cover for my bikes. I rarely needed but when I did, they insisted on sending a patrol man in a van to fix the bike despite being told that it was old. This resulted in a van turning up and then having to make a forty mile roung trip to get the only bike trailer they had in N. Yorks so what should have been a 2 hr job turned into 7 hours.
The last time, last year with a minor issue, which meant I couldnt ride the bike, I had to leave it overnight at a friend's because they couldnt get there until next day. When I got there, there was no recovery. My wife called and said she had looked at Hagerty policy and it had recovery. 1 phone call and 1&1/2 hrs I was home in a van equipped to recover bikes.

Yes the AA and I guess the RAC are commercial companies now and work in complete ignorance of old bikes and cars. If you get stranded with a side car always refer to it as a ' three wheeler' because on top of the "we can fix most breakdowns in 30 minutes" man (whats a magneto? inner tube? is that still legal?) you will then get the recovery vehicle with a rack for a solo (whats a motorcycle and sidecar?) before finally getting one for a three wheeler.

I have just renewed my FJ insurance and the recovery that used to be AXA has changed to RAC.

The AXA paperwork said recovery was possible after breakdown, accident or rider being unwell.

The RAC seems to only cover roadside in the case of breakdown. Like the AA described by Vibrac, if the roadside assistance system can't help, then recovery should happen......but is there a 10mile limit? The FL/RAC booklet that FJ sent had a definition of VEHICLE that did not include a motorcycle. Accident and illness assistance are not covered!

I phoned to say how bad this all was, and eventually they admitted to having a problem with their FJ/RAC documentation.....but did not want to agree that the RAC assistance would be inferior......I've got a few days left to find an alternative and get a refund.

Like with the silly RH garaging clause, can the VOC help with this daftness?
