Afternoon all,

I've done a search of the forum and the databases, but alas I can't find an answer.

I think in MPH a few months back, the VSM 2LS brake conversion was detailed on what bearings were required. Does anyone know where this article was, or know the details on the bearings?.

Regards

Rob

Tell him what bearings and hubs you have and he supplies the hollow axle to suit. Generally they use the standard original roller bearings either wide or narrow.

Thanks Robert, I'm just preparing a set of hubs to be laced and the wheel builder requires them to have the axles as complete as possible (rather than just running off the bearings cups, which was what I was hoping....). So I've acquired a spare front hollow axle to achieve this, I just didn't fancy buying a pair of new Timken full width bearings and finding out I should have brought a different cone!.

I have always laced wheels running on the bearing cones in the cups and just snug them in the wheel stand with no play. Last set less than 10 thou runout both sideways and up and down. They were Devon Stainless and on one I had a very difficult time even finding the welded joint it was so smooth!

Wheels are off now being built, Vincent Speet has emailed me the details, now to decide whether air scoops or not......

Mine, without scoops. I think it looks better, sorry Vincent.
