I know you said the image is on www.thevincent.co.uk, but could you narrow it down a bit?

There's hundreds of photos on there, and finding that particular one is going to prove difficult!

From the fact that the headlight has a light shield on it then I suspect that both these photographs date from 1939 to 1945 as during that time motor vehicle lights had to be screened to that they could not be seen from the air and act as a guide beacon for bombers. The rider, in uniform, does not look at all like Ted Hampshire did when I knew him in the sixties but 25 to 30 years could have made a big change possible

for any body who,s intrested i took the picture of phil vincent sitting on dur142 and cleaned it up a little , after i color adjusted it wow it looks like theres a beam of sunlight shining down on phil :D
