Hi All,I´ve posted two scans of my old log book on the forum photos side under Miscellaneous-2007-Motorcycles-Series D.(i would of attached them to this message, but they would of been unreadable).
Please take the time to have a look at the names, and see if you recognise any of them, and if so,please send me a message.(you can save the pictures to your computer, and then enlarge on any picture processing programm. The scans have a high enough definition).
The entry under 7th owner was my dad.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,
I knew this bike and it's owner when we were both in the then Hull section. Owner 7 Bruce Lonsdale was in the army I think, and we went to the Isle of Man together more than once.
My recollection is of an unfaired bike, the only enclosed machine in the Hull section was Norman Fristons.
Owners 4 5 & 6 I do not recognize.
I may have photos of Bruce, and will start the hunt ASAP.

Regards John.

Hi John, yes john bruce lonsdale was in the army (he´s my father) and the bike is a naked D shadow, although in the registration documents and from the frame number it should be a prince. This is one of the mysteries i´m trying to solve. As long as i can remember it´s been an open D.
If you´ve got photos of my dad from his youth(or the bike)i´d be chuffed to bits to recieve a copy,as i´ve very few pictures of him as a young man.
Regards Vince
P.s,Photos of the bike today are under series D in the photo gallery(just the same as me dad had it,just not as rusty) :)

Dear Vince,
Have posted two photos in the forum under miscellaneous, I hope my memory is not playing tricks, but I think this is him. Key word Lonsdale.
Do you still have the bike? is your Dad still to the fore as the Scot's say?
These pictures are from black and white slides that I have scanned in to the computer, I may have more in print form but that is a job for a dark winters day when it is too cold to go into the garage.
The D is a mystery as to when the fairings where removed, just a thought that Norman Friston turned a C into an enclosed D in Hull.

Regards John.

Hi John, maybe the fairings are still in circulation, that´d be pretty amazing.
Yes,i´ve still got the bike (as it was then, just a bit shinier, keyword kct 306 under series d in the photo forum)).
Unfortunately,John Bruce passed away in june 1999 (ischaemic heart disease)aged 55.He didn´t even know anything was wrong, and passed away during a bicycle ride with his new girlfriend(he always wanted to go quick, but probably not at such a young age),he didn´t even have a chance to put his arms out to stop the fall it happened so quick.
Thanks for the photos, yes thats him,i´d recognise the nose anywhere.
The guy next to him, tony loyd,i think i´ve seen him in a couple of my dads photos, wearing exactly the same gear(probably taken at the same time),i´ll have to dig them out.Maybe you´re on a couple.
Thanks again, and please keep on looking.
Regards Vince.
P.s there are two sides to the registration document (you mention not knowing entries 4,5&6.There´s also 1,2&3,all from that area. They´re also under series d).

Dear Vince,
Sorry to hear about your Dad.
The only other entry that rings a bell is the first change, Browns Ltd.
By a strange coincidence a Vincent owner owns Browns Garage in Hull still. I do not think there is any connection.
I will have a look for more pictures ASAP.

Regards John.

Just out of interest,i recall my father telling me stories of fun times with the Aldershot and portsmouth sections when he was living in borden, and i believe he struck up a few lasting friendships,a couple of which were Robin and marion blackwell with whom i had contact, and a lot of help sourcing spares to rebuild the bike after my father died.
It would be great to hear from anyone who may of knew him,and positively wonderfull if they had any old photos of him (with me mam) or the bike.
Thanks in advance Vince.

Just for the record. If you think vince998 is Vince Farrell, the VOC Machine Researcher, you're wrong.

If you'd like the ask Vince Farrell anything about a machine, e-mail him on the address you'll find on the inside front cover of MPH.

Regards
