Imron:
At 150 quid a can in UK its hardly a touch up paint...

lets have some feedback on that eastwood stuff

Oh dear just tried
https://www.eastwood.com/2k-aerospray-ht-ceramic-engine-paint-gloss-black.html

search dies
Not sure why the search would die. You could try just going to Eastwood.com and searching for high temp paint.
I bought the paint for the Comet engine, but that plan seems to have changed. It would have been a good test give the number of times the engine has been carted around, installed, reinstalled etc.
I assume it is slightly less deadly than Imron, but I cobbled together a booth with a fan and use safety gear when spraying. It is probably (along with the 2 part primer) still nasty stuff.
Not sure when I will get around to using it and you probably want long term testing anyway.... but will try and remember to post results when I do use it.
25 USD and covers approximately 35 sq ft. Most of the reviews are positive, but I doubt it is as durable and professionally done Imron.

The comments about poisoning oneself with paint are SERIOUS. Like most other bikers I am not averse to a risk or two but all the paints which are two component that I have used continue to set due to a chemical reaction, not the evaporation of a solvent. They are quite happy to do that in your lungs as well as on the bike. I too have been in the 'propped up all night fighting for breath' scenario and it is not good. I treated my self to a belt mounted, one inlet and two outlets hose adaptor with filter, I would not trust the filter to do anything useful with two pack. But I made the two outlets different types of female connection.. One goes to the spray gun and the other to the air fed mask. This way I cannot use the spray gun without using the air fed mask. I am the kind of person who without this would be "I'll just do this quick job and it wont hurt me" and end up killing myself. I also ensure that the compressor is not in the same place as the spraying is taking place so that it cannot pick up spray in the atmosphere. Be warned.

Dupont Imron has been a very popular product in the States for engine painting.

I have done two twins with the single stage polyurethane, what I believe is the most essential part of the process is the prep, I start with clean cases and then use duponts alumiprep brushed on with a brush with a bit of a scrub followed by a rinse in water, let dry and then follow up with their alodine wash, rinse and dry, then spray. I believe the etching process without a primer is essential to good adhesion with the high temperatures, so far the paint looks as good as when first applied.

I forgot to mention that it is important to mask each piece, cases, timing cover, primary cover with masking tape on each surface and then lightly bolt them together giving just enough space so that the edges when bolted together don’t show any lack of coverage.
