A much changed establishment these days, not IMHO for the better, that was a real pub selling real beer, Wethereds of Marlow, Wethereds now long gone and the old site mainly up market residential housing and apartments, the beer was excellent, especially the Winter Royal, as the name suggests only brewed in the winter months. Alan and Audrey certainly ran a good boozer as we used to call them back in the day, an excellent West London Section meeting place also.

Just been for a shake down, Goes well, Steers so different to a standard bike, Jelly on a plate !, But much better for my poor old back.
Only problem, Alloy P/tank, It don't fit too well, So I don't want to put too much weight on it and my Magnet type bag don't stick !, So how can I carry all my stuff ?.
I wonder if anybody does a small tool roll that I can put under the screen, I will have to cut down on what I carry. Cheers Bill.

I like to carry a few bits and bobs, e.g. a few tie wraps, insulating tape, spare plug, etc. It seems that many people are happy just to have a mobile phone and a subscription to rescue. I have both but if it only a small problem that I can fix with what I'm carrying it is better than waiting for the rescue vehicle.

I have a Smart Phone, Wish I was Smart enough to know how to use it !, No I can get by.
Don't like the thought of waiting for them for hours.
We have had a laugh about my tank bag before, It weighs 20lb.
I like a drink, Some pills and germolene, Got stung in the neck a few years ago, Tried to shrug it off, But the begger got me about 3 times.
Things like tyre inflater can etc, Cables, K/ SINK !.
I felt naked just now with what I could get in my pockets.
Thanks Ed for the tip about removing the rear spring, To check chain tension, That worked well with the new AVO.
I think I might have to get a shoulder bag, We used to use an old Army type years ago.
Cheers Bill.

I have an aluminium petrol tank on my Rapide so the very convenient magnetic tank bag doesn't work. If I'm riding solo a small haversack without too much in it is OK. This is no good with a passenger and my wife will under no circumstances wear a haversack because as Vibrac mentions back ache is a problem. I've just bought a Yamaha with a tank bag that quickly clips on or off a fitting screwed to the petrol filler cap. This wouldn't work with a standard Vincent fuel tank but might be possible on the aluminium tank that has a cap mechanism that is fixed with several screws. To remove the bag you just pull the cord at the front to unlatch. (Arrowed.)
I have a really good bag on the Ducati by (I think) Baglux. This has a substantial custom tank cover that remains on the bike and the tank bag itself is easily removed. I don't think that they do a bag for the Vincent tank. I did enquire some years ago about one for a Vincent but didn't follow it up. Maybe they might do a "universal" version.
